Dear Justin Timberlake,
You are not bringing sexy back. I have been here this whole time.
Thank you,

2006-2007
I start classes on Monday. Well I don't have class on Monday so technically I start Tuesday, but I move in Sunday night. Most of my stuff got moved in yesterday. I'm going down Wedensday to get it all set up, so that when I get dropped off Sunday night I will have nothing at all to worry about.
My vacation was amazing! I spent so much time on the beach I tanned a nice brown. I also got to watch tutrles hatching, that was pretty damn amazing.
OK this was meant to be longer, but I am really frickin sleepy.

Vacation
OK so you might think that title is referenincing the fact that I have not been blogging or blog reading for awhile. While this is true, it is actually in regards to the fact that I leave for vacation for a week. I leave tomorrow! I'm headed to a beach house for a week of fun and sun. I will come back tanned and relaxed.
I took out 9 books for the trip. Only to discover I have already read one. This is dissapppointing butI shall survive.
Oh! for all those wondering if you should go see "The Descent" go see it. It's completly and utterly terrifying. I slept with the light on the night after I saw it. Well I saw half of it. My left eye was covered the whole time.

Weddings are awesome
A friend from work got married on Friday. A bunch of us from work went. It was amazing. Kristen (the bride), was beautiful. Her dress was amazing and so were the bridesmaids' dresses. The building where they had their reception was very elegant and romatntic in a magical sort of way. All together it was a great wedding.
We had an insane amount of fun at the reception. We discovered that there are two things that should not mix: "Open Bar" and "Canadian Tire". Other than the designated drivers, we all had a lot to drink. No one was embarrassingly drunk though, nobody threw up or made a scene, we just had a lot of fun. We danced the entire night. And most importantly I got fantastically hit on. The DJ asked for my number and the bartender asked if I had a boyfriend. That's right the DJ AND the bartender. Apparently I am awesome at weddings.

Waiting
I am currently waiting to go out. Me and assorted friends from work are going out drinking, well they are drinking, I am the designated driver. I am waiting for the phone call that says it's time to go.
to kill time, movie reviews:
Transamerica
Some friends and I rented Transamerica while I was downtown. The movie was amazing. It was funny but dealt very honestly with the tough issue of gender disphoria. I highly recommend this movie.
Over the Hedge
I have officially seen this movie twice, and it was hilarious both times. Go see it. Now. Go go.
The Break Up
A decent movie. Not the hilarious movie the commericals make it out to be. It was more of a thought provoking look at a painful breakup. I enjoyed it, but I felt that the ending could have been more uplifting.
That is currently all I can remember about movies seen thus far.

Life is good, and hilarious
Life is good here in my world. Work is going well, I make it downtown regularly and I have travel plans. The only drawback is that summer is going too far.
I wanted to share a story from work:
A customer turned a cell phone in to us at customer service, someone had lost it in the store.
20 minutes later (after unsuccesfully searching for a 'Home' contact entry) a man arrived asking if anyone had turned in a cell phone, after describing it he had it returned and this ensued:
CS girl: "You should really include your home phone number in your phone, so if someone finds it they can call and tell you"
Man: "I haven't had a chance yet, the phone's brand new. I got it two days ago because I lost my last one."
Not a good track record.

Somewhere along the way, I became a girl
Previously I was never much for shoes, but latelyI have developed a penchant for them. What follows is a recent thought process:
"Hmmmmm..... these shoes are hurting my feet, I mean really seriously hurting my feet, excrutitatingly painful really, it's good that I only bought the blue ones and not the powder pink ones as well......... oooooh the powder pink ones were cute... I wonder if they're on sale now"

Friday Night
Jocelyn and I attended a movie this evening. Over the Hedge, and it was awesome. I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone.
We also went to Chapters, oooooh Chapters. Jocelyn and I should not be allowed to go there.... we bought many books. Well she bought a few books, and I bought 1. A book filled with such awesomeness I cannot even describe it here. But I will try.
It is an illustrated True Crime Book. Pictures!!! Pictures of Kennedy getting shot, pictures of the Son of Sam. Pictures of Bonnie and Clyde!!! And a synopsis of all the assorted crimes! I am so excited.

Conversation with a Customer
A customer wanted to buy a fishing liscense yesterday, here is the conversation that ensued:
Man: I think my card is expired can I get a new one.
Me: It's not expired so I can issue you a sticker which is cheaper
Man: The card is not expired?
Me: No so I can issue you a sticker
Man: The card is not expired so you can issu me me a sticker
Me: Ummmm...... yes..... did you want a conservation sticker? It's really all you need to fish.
Man: Conservation sticker... it's really all you need to fish.
Me: Yes.......?
Man: I will take one please
LONG TIME PASSES OF HIM REPEATING EVERYTHING I SAY
Me: That will be 13.50
Man: 13.50?
Me: (barely restraining urge to kill the man twice just because he won't understand the first time) yes!
The man was not mentally handicapped, he was just completely and utterly annoying.

forgot to mention
I forgot to mention that my phone works fine now.
It is kind of late. I do not know what time it is because O I am not wearing myy glasse. I litterallly cannot read the words on this screen. So any typos are as a result of that.,
I've tried sushi. I have injested squid.
I'm sleepy.

So maybe it's been awhile
I've writeen 2 of four exams. I finish May 1oth. May 10th people!!! That's forever from now.
I just have to write Crime and Gender and Intro to Learning, two classes that sport what we call a 'cumultive exam'. No good.
The exam I wrote on Friday was interesting. Our proctor told us we couldn't have cell phones or ipods or anything on our desks. Shortly after finishing this speech HIS cell phone rang. AND THEN HE TOOK THE CALL. This happened three times. Someone suggested that maybe his cell phone was the official one they give out to proctors so they can communicate quickly. Except during his first call he had this to say:
"Hi..... nothing much....."
Nothing much??? yes you're doin something buddy... you're proctoring my damn exam! Sheesh.
The other great part of the exam was when I asked to go to the bathroom the female proctor asked me if I knew where it was, when I said yes she said I could go right ahead. I don't think she understood that the reason she is supposed to escort me is not to prevent me from getting lost, but so that I won't cheat. In the bathroom was a few people who had finished their exam... they were now going through their textbooks..... damn my morals!

Where to live
I have to sort out where to live next year. I did not get the donship I applied for, nor did I get into the co-op house I applied to. Currently it looks like I am going to be living in residence. I can't decide which building to live in. I can't decide if I should stay in the same building that I am living in now or move to another one. If I move to another one, I'm not sure which one. I have to decide by Wednesday.
In a tragic event my phone perished on Wednesday night. It needs to be replaced. There are currently many road blocks to this. It's quite stressful because I cannot figure out which phone to get, when to get it or which plan I should use. Plus there is the stressful fact that I do not have a phone. I am currently going through withdrawl.

A Couple of Open Letters to Assorted Individuals
Dear Girl Who Sat Next to Me in My Test Today,
When you dropped your Scantron Sheet, and it landed at my feet, there was a reason I didn't pick it up. It was not because I didn't notice until it was too late. It was not because I felt I didn't have enough time to finish the test and therefore couldn't spare the minute it would have taken to lean over and pick it up. It wasn't even because I'm a cold heartless bitch (although you probably now think that I am).
It's because you chose to read every last question on the test outloud to yourself. Including the multiple choice questions and all their possible options.
So don't be mad at me for not picking up your sheet, be happy that I didn't kill you.
Thanks!
-Christine
Dear Person in My Intro to Social Psychology Class,
When the Proffessor said; "80% of marriages end in divorce or seperation"
and you said; "That's over half!"
I was so glad you were there, to blow the lid off that statistic.
I can only hope you use your Powers of the Obvious for good and never for evil.

The Day Part of My Brain Died in Shock
I was sitting quitely waiting for my Wednesday morning class to start. I was pretending to read my book, but really I was listening to these three girls have a conversation (the eavesdropping was so not all my fault cause they were really loud). Listening to their conversation I discovered that: Thesis Girl has to present her thesis (hence the name) to a big group of people soon, Waitress Girl is in her late 20s because she takes classes while she waitresses, and that Research girl has a presentation to do. I also discovered that all three of them have been living under some internet rock, probably the same rock Mike K has been living under except his has more bingo.
Here is the conversation that ensued:
Research Girl: I was researching this presentation and the librarian told me to put addition signs in when I search for things
Thesis Girl: Really? Does that help?
Research Girl: Yeah! Cause it means it looks up the one word plus the other word.
Waitress Girl: Wow! That's so neat! I'll use that
Research Girl: Yeah it really helps to narrow stuff down.
At this point my brain was melting. How have these people survived to third year university, how has Thesis Girl managed to prepare a thesis, without being able to Google properly??? Waitress Girl is a very intelligent girl, AND she's hip! Hip people!!! She should be all up on the Google Skillz.
I came home from class and proceded to tell people on my floor this story. I was then shocked to discover that THEY HAD NO IDEA EITHER!!!! I felt like I was in some sort of twighlight zone where it turns out everyone is illiterate but you.
Previously I had always thought that I was a decent Google lookerupper. Turns out I'm awesome, way abover average, I'm going to go as far as saying that my skillz are superb.

You've Come a Long way Baby
Happy Birthday Blog!!!
Today you are one year old.
Thank you for the hilarity you've allowed me to deliver.
Thank you for the steam you have let me blow off by ranting.
Thank you for helping me keep up with my friends.
Thank you for your comment section, that reminds me of everyone out there.
Thank you "I Live in my Head and Sleep in my Bed" your awesome burns stronger than a thousand suns.
In other news; I've had a great week. Last night was amazing because I wrote a test (therefore no more studying) and afterwards went out for cheap martini night. Tonight was wonderful because I ended up going to a sketch comdey show put on by engineering, it was hilarious. Tomorrow will be an enlightening trip to the ROM! I am a dork.

Boggle
I totally downloaded 'Boggle' onto my phone. It has provided me with hours of entertainment, unfortuneatly this has sometimes occured in class. I haven't found 'helipads' yet, but I'm trying.
I really need to buy new shoes for the summer. My current non-winter shoes have no lining left in the heel, so it's just hard plastic, slowly grinding away my feet's will to live.
I also need to buy new jeans, because my favourite pair of jeans finnaly have up the other day. There is no a huge rip in them, in the buttocks region. Meaning that I have to choose; lose the jeans, or lose my dignity.
I have a test tomorrow so the big plan for today is studying. Child Development, why are you so boring sometimes?
Oh! I made myself brushetta on Friday! I'm getting kind of good at this whole 'cooking' thing.

Stuff that sticks in your head
I was walking somewhere the other day and I realized that there is a lot of random stuff that is stuck in my head, that comes up at random times. Unimportant stuff that sits with me and comes up, and I ask myself; "Why in the hell do I still remember that?" I was going to post a long elaborate list of such things that I think of, but right now I can only think of one.
At the end of last school year Whitney (for the uninitiated, Whitney happens to be the younger sister of Angus, but more importantly, she is a very nice and friendly girl) posted in her blog about she was looking forward to in spring. She listed nice warm weather things, like wearing skirts, and I think flip flops also made the list. Now, when I look out the window, I think about her post. I want to wear skirts and flip flops. Tank tops and bathing suits. I'm looking forward to the days when my feet stop being cold on such a permanent basis. Maybe Whitney will think it odd that I, on occasion, read her blog. She will probably think it even more odd that, quite frequently lately, think about what she wrote. Well Whitney, I don't know what to say, other than; I am an odd person.
Angus pointed out the other day, that when I describe people, I describe them as nice. He said to me, people are either nice or not nice. I respond in this fashion because I don't often see a point in articulating more accurately. When asked about Alex I usually respond with; "She's nice, I like her". I was going to list here reasons why I like Alex (to prove to Angus that I have more complex opinions of people) but I realized that Alex may not enjoy such a touchy feely ode to her, so I have cancelled my plans.

Quiet night to wrap it all up
I'm having a quiet night tonight. I'm trying to get rid of this cold that has been following me around since Monday. So tonight I packed up the three laundry baskets full of laundry, cleaned out my email and hung out with Michael. Nice and quiet. Everything is organized for me to go back to school tomorrow, this will make me a lot less stressed tomorrow. I am enjoying a nice conversation with Jon on MSN. I have promised him, that if I die, he gets my iPod. Sorry everyone else who was hoping they had dibs.
I had an excellent reading week. I picked up a couple shifts on top of my usual weekend. I also got to hang out with my parents and Michael a lot. Oh, and coffee with Jon, Randeep and Shaun.
I went to a concert on Wednesday with Mike. We went and saw Jann Arden in Barrie. It was amazing. She's very good in concert, highly hilarious. I was surprised at how funny she was.
On Friday Angus and I went snowboarding. It was great. Painful, but great. I fell, a lot. But near the end I got kinda ok at it.
In summation, the week was great. Which is good, because I will spend the next week in the library for my midterm next week.
yay me

Naps
Janet asked me awhile ago for some advice about napping. I felt that, as a nap expert, I could give a general note about napping, as a public service.
Tere are many ways to nap, personally when I plan on napping, I go full out and put on pajamas, but that is certainly not required. Sweatpants are more than all right. Anytime is good for naps, but once you get into evening, you may find it hard for you to fall asleep, or the complete opposite you may just sleep clean through to the next morning.
The most important part of napping is to set an alarm. Please do not full yourself into believing that you will wake up after a quick 10 minute nap. You will not. You will wake up three hours later, groggy and confused.
That's the other important thing, a time limit. Through research and personal expereince, 1 hour is a good nap limit. Such a limit usually leaves you feeling refreshed, around the two hour mark you will be groggy. There is an exception though. Say you sleep from 1 till 3. After 6 you will probably start feelig less groggy. So if you need to have a late night, I recommend such a nap.
That's really all you need to know about napping, I hope you all put this info to good use.

MIA
I feel like I have been missing in action. Where this feeling started I do not really know. Maybe it's because I am no longer checking blogs on a daily basis. Maybe it's because I feel like I don't update enough. Maybe it's because I'm never online. I just feel like I've disconnected. Case in point: I had no idea that Angus got a job with Apple. Usually this is information I am up on. But I was not, because of the whole never online thing. Because I've been spending all my time studying and stuff. I am not complaining per se.... really I'm just trying to say that I still care, I do, I'm just doing my best to do well in school.
To all those of you who were worried (and there were many of you), no I did not delete any of you off of MSN. You can all sleep soundly now.
I have heard of this thing MSN Geeks. I am opting not to get it though, sounds like it could become a needless hit to my ego, and I would spend much too long thinking about it.
Things that I miss:
- lying around reading books for fun
- hanging out with Angus, Jon, Randeep and Angus
- talking with Heather online
- wearing skirts
Things I am enjoying:
- That I rocked my Development Test
- Fencing (I'm getting good at lunges)
- Walksafing
- The Tulips I bought myself at work
- the new white mittens I bought myself.
OK so that's all for now.

wooooooo
I could not come up with a better title, so I went with woooooooooo. Deal with it.
I rocked a test last night. I was worried because it seemed really easy, I was wondering if there was something I was missing, like that time in grade 9 english, when I was done in like 20 minutes and it turned out the question that I answered with 2 sentences was actually an essay question.
A bunch of people started leaving early so I decided that I hadn't missed anything and the test was just that good.
I delted someone off of MSN today, a surprisingly liberating experience.
Tonight is perhaps the greatest night of the year. It is called; The Chocolate Buffet. $3 gets you in. There is no end to the chocolate. It's a room filled with multiple kinds of chocolate; many different cakes, chocolate fondue, chocolate bars, lindt chocolate, smarties, ferro roche, fudge.... everything. And all the profist go to Out of the Cold. So really I have to go, it's the chairtable thing to do.
I have three tests next week and a paper I would like to finish. So there will be much studying.
I rocked a test last night. I was worried because it seemed really easy, I was wondering if there was something I was missing, like that time in grade 9 english, when I was done in like 20 minutes and it turned out the question that I answered with 2 sentences was actually an essay question.

Assorted rambles and thoughts.
I have a developmental psychology test to study for. Quite frankly I'm not feeling it right now, I really just want to lie around and do nothing.
I haven't taken a nap since last Saturday!!! My goal for this week was not to nap, and quite frankly I have done well for myself.
I got a haircut today. It was my first tie having my hair cut by a man. He was quite fun, although he lectured me that you should never wait two years to get a hair cut. He only took like half an inch off, and apparently he added some layers. Whatever, it went up in a pony tail like 20 minutes after he did it, because he didn't put in enough gel to stop me turning into a fuzzy poof ball.
I also bought new shoes today... they're pretty. I believe I will wear them to my friends concert tonight.

This week
It has been a really good week. I guess I should start with Sunday to truly make this a week in review.
Sunday I got reflexology done on my feet. They massage your feet and put pressure on them to help fix assorted ailments on your body. A friend of a friend is training for it and needs to practice on people, I graciously stepped up, and took a free foot massage for the team.
On the same day I hooked my friend up with a statcounter for the website she runs for our college, she, and the whole student council of our college apparently, thinks it's amazing. They have been quite happy to find out that people are actually using the site. I like being helpful.
Monday was of course my glorious walksafe shift, wherein we got only 1 walk! (See previous post).
Tuesday I donated blood. It made me all sleepy and dizzy but it was still fun. Peter and I watched "March of the Penguins" while donating. This movie is pretty much the saddest movie ever. Don't by fooled by the people who tell you it's about love and happiness.... it is not.
Tuesday was also my first fencing class. Thereby making Tuesday super cool. My instructor is an adorable no nonsense kind of guy. He kind of scares me, but he can teach me about the joys of fencing, so I've decided to fear and revere him.
Wednesday was quite busy with three classes. And my presentation!!! It went ok I think, I just have to wait to get the marks back.
Thursday brought the second fencing class of the week. I got to use to the foil!!! I wore the mask and the vesty thing. It was amazing!! So much fun. Thursday night I hung out at a friends house where a bunch of us watched two episodes of CSI. I don't want to spoil the episodes for anyone who taped it but... there were dead bodies. It's true! I am not making this up.
Lets see if Friday and Sat will be as fun.

Just some thoughts
I'm wondering if I should work on making a regular sleep pattern. Cause I'm all over the map and that just can't be good. I'm constantly sleepy, I think it's a mixture of my low ironness and the fact that my body has no idea when it can expect sleep. Both of these issues need to be rectified, because I am tired of napping.
I had a great time walksafing last night, while out on our travels my partner and I ran into three or four of my friends while out on campus. My walksafe partner now thinks I'm miss populairity. We only had one walk last night, while the other team had 4. It was very much us being in the right place at the right time, we were on break when the other team got stuck with two of their walks. I've officially decided that joining walksafe was one of my better ideas. Not only have I made new friends, but I also get exercise. I also know my way around campus now, which is good. And I know where most of the campus libraries are, which has got to be helpful later for something.
I voted! It was great. I will admit I hadn't intended to vote, I thought I was much too busy. But yesterday afternoon I decided I had some time, and who doesn't love democracy? So I voted and it made me feel pretty good.
Tomorrow I have a class presentation to do for my Self & Society Class (a look at how defintions of the self and society changed through the renaissance). This will be my first presentation in my university career. I am a little nervous. The guidelines for the presentation are quite vague; 10 minutes, on the topic we cover in class that day, but don't cover what the proffessor is going to say. What is the proffessor going to say? Good question, one which I wish I had the answer too. I'm going first in our class (the presentations will last all semester) so hopefully I will gain points for firstness.

Saying No
So this post may confuse all the people who are aware that my new life policy is "Try new things" (for those of you who don't know this, get with the time peeps, I'm all about trying new things... and using the word 'peeps'), but I need to learn how to say 'no'.
I especially need to learn how to say 'no' when accepting plans.
"What?" you say. But I thought that was what 'try new things' was all about. Making sure that you got out of your house more, and experienced life, because all through high school you did not do this, not that you regret this (cause I don't) but you want to see what's out there now. Like run on sentences.
'Yes' I say, this is all true, but you know what's a bigger truth? Failing. And I'm not talking classy failing, like a couple tests failing, or a course failing, where you take the hit, shake it off and realize you're a better person for it. No. I'm talking full on shit-kicked-out-of-you failing. Cry for your Mama failing (I should be clear, I do that anyway). Wonder what the fuck you did to U of T that it wanted to hit you with a lead pipe kinda failing.
Not that I am at risk of failing right now (reading Angus's mind: 'there she goes, worrying again, sigh' that's right, I can read Angus' mind, and he actually does think the word 'sigh'), cause I'm in all half courses and it's only been two weeks since they started. But still. I'm setting myself up for a pattern of doing nothing, all the time. I mean the outings have been most fun, believe me, this has been a good week, but damn the fun's got to stop somewhere.
Now I hear what you're thinking (creepy, yes?) "Seize the day Christine! You only live once!!!" (I know you people think in exclamation marks, you're all about the exclamation marks).
To that I respond: "If I don't stop partaying so much, I won't be living anywhere." Cause U of T frowns on you living in their rez after you have flunked out, and my parents firmly believe that unless you're doing something productive (i.e. school, or say, a job) you can't live in their house, which is a policy that definetly makes sense.
So yes I still believe in trying new things, and living life to it's fullest, but I also believe in passing, in getting grades I can be proud of. do I have a plan for this? A schedual for when it's cool to party and when it's not? No. But I'm working on it.
In other news, Shashi, I called your house again by accident. I should probably not just freak out and hang up, but I did.
In even more news.... fencing starts this Tuesday!!!
En garde!

three sweetest words
The three sweetest words in the English language:
Class is cancelled.
Wooo.
Excuse me while I go and be productive with this free time gift.

Good First Day
Today was my first day back to school. I spent the morning in bed. Because I could. I then procedded to organize more things and sign up for an athletics course. I also attended my 3 hour Crime and Gender class today. It was interesting, we discussed the concept of gender vs. sex. I have encountered this topic in almost all my classes, yet this proffessor managed to present in a new and well organized manner. I think this will be a good course, she seems to be a good proffessor, organized and engaging, and the material looks interesting. But really, who lectures on the first day?
I am taking fencing! I will be fencing up a storm on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I'm excited. I spent most of the afternoon trying to figure out what I should take. I almost took squash, and ballet, and pilates. I realized though that I do not have enough time to take all these classes. Fencing will be fun I hope.
I still want to join a club, but I don't think I have time. I just feel like I'm not doing enough, not enjoying enough of what my university has to offer. On the other hand, I always have a lot of fun, and I should spend more time studying this semester.
Walksafe starts up again tomorrow night, I hope to move walksafing to Monday nights, because Wednesday looks like it's going to be a long day.
I have an elaborate Pizza Pizza story to blog about. It stars Mike K. I know you're all very intrigued, but I myself am very sleepy.

Back at school
I moved back in today. I'm all unpacked and stuff, my wall calendars are updated and ready for use.
I'm just feeling a little antisocial right now. I think it's natural though, moving back into residence is probably going to be a little odd for the next couple days.
I'm looking forward to my classes but I'm just a little stressed because I haven't settled my schedual yet.
Perhaps I will update in more detail later, but I had an excellent break.
I am currently enjoying Murphy Brown (First season on DVD, courtesy of Mike K). I amfeeling a little excited about this coming semester, just because I'm ready for something new.
Oh! I might take Fencing. It's all up in the air though. I'll keep you posted.

Reminder
So often I convince myself that my life sucks. Often when this happens one of my friends inadvertedly reminds me that my life does not suck. For example I sometimes get a druken phonecall from someone and they make me laugh. Wait I think I called her. Whichever.

2006 thus far
So far 2006 has been quite good. I spent New Years at a party at Shaan's house. It was a fabulous new years. I feel I did Angus a wonderful service this New Years. I helped him to reflect on his life and what is really important to him. At least I assume that's what happened when his life flashed before his eyes while I drove him home from Shaan's house.
Sunday was spent trying to find a new course for this semester, I believe I was succesful in finding one that might interest me, something about the Renaissance or something. Monday night I hung out wtih Steph and her friend. We spent hours talking. Tonight is dinner with Shashi, Eve, and Steph.
Anyway I should return to room cleaning before heading out to dinner.

Great Weekend
So I had Wednesday and Thursday off. So I've deicided that they were my weekend.
Tuesday night (Friday night) I went out to dinner with Heather, it was quite delicious although I ate too much. I officialy tried spinach and artichoke dip, it was shockingly delicious. Who knew spinach was worth eating? Plus it's filled with iron, which will hopefully help my low in ironess.
Wednesday I went shopping with Jo. This should not happen again for many years. I spent lots of money. a lot. Then I came home and tripeed over all the stuff I had brought home from school. Why did I buy all this stuff again? I have enough stuff! Oh wait... it's because the red sweater looked fantastic on me. Damn you wonderful red sweater!
Mike and Jo and I then had Christmas together. We went out for dinner (Jack Astors, damn good). I had an Oreo Milkshake! Man I love oreos in anything... except as just oreos... they're only ok on they're own. We then hit Best Buy where I bought more stuff. Then we went to my house where we unwrapped presents and watched an Ellen standup comedy movie.
Today I went cross country skiing!!! It turns out I'm not that awful at it. I only fell 14 times. Quite succesful really. We also fed chickadees out of our hands. I want to go cross country skiing more, it was all physically satisfying.
I have to go to bed, because tomorrow is basicaly my Monday.
Good night!

so I'm on a little vacation
Between work and napping, I haven't been blogging. I'm taking a little break just because my computer's current location is not terribly convienient. I tottally just spelled like 4 words wrong there.
Christmas was great, so much lazing around. Everyone seemed to like the gifts I got them so that's great.
OK I'm not eloquent right now... I'm going to bed.

Anyway, I'm off to work, perhaps I will post longer later.

Flashback
So I ate pizza in my room last night. And whenever I left and then came back in my room I was struck by the strong smell of pizza that filled the room. After a while I didn't notice the smell anymore. It reminded me of when the yearbook room was painted, and it smelled strongly of oil paint fumes. But we got used to the smell after spending a few minutes in there. We then would spend hours in that small little oily painted fumey room. Then later people would come in and point out how strong the fumes were and we would have no idea what they were talking about.
So in conclusion I can only assume that we lost many many brain cells in that little room. How we all made it to universities and such I don't know.

Tuesday
Today I got a lot done. I managed to study Youth Justice (hey young offenders, we can so, under certain circumstances, release your name!)
I outlined what I had to study for my impending Cognitive Exam.
I went to my last physiological psychology class. Man that class was boring.
I fixed this thing on my computer that was broken, yay me! I am really proud of that one because it allows me to say impressive things such as; "I fixed the DirectAccess option by reinstalling the drivers". It makes my life so much easier now, because I can launch word with the touch of a button.
I ate breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Hey! That's impressisive people, eating takes time, and I am damn well going to count it as an accomplishment.
I packed something for tomorrow I need to remember.
I emailed Peter about something.
And by the end of the night I will have birthday ninjaed a door. YES!
In other news I am starting to panic about Christmas shopping. I have only gotten my Dad something. And I'm also doing the stressing out of who do I get presents for? In residence it's hard because you live with them, but would you get presents for them? This was so much easier in High school when I just told Eve I wasn't going to get her a present, and she told me she wasn't going to get me one, no harm no foul. Some people, if I don't get presents for them it may turn into a whole big thing. But you know what? I don't want to get presents for them. I've tried making a list but it keeps needing revising. This is bad. I figure I won't start Christmas shopping till after exams, but I finish late on the 20th. That leaves me like 4 days to finish Christmas Shopping. So Mike and Jo, you may not receive you presents till later.

A lttle dark... then bright!
I miss having a best friend at school. My best friend here went out with the whole high school drama of year. It's not really her that I miss, just the place she filled.
I had an excellent weekend. I hung out and lazed around the house (between bouts of Candian Tire of course). Watched Hitch with Michael, we watched the whole thing together, except for the end, which he slept through. He woke up when I was turning off the tv... "What happened?? What happened to the movie?" "It's over, you fell asleep.",...... "Really?" that struck me as hilarious cause he was asleep for like 20 minutes, and we learned in psych class how people in stage 1 of sleep will sleep and swear they weren't asleep. Oh knowledge, ye make life hilarious with your accuracy.
Saturday night was tree trimming, with Corner Gas for entertainment. Damn that show is hilarious.
So yay good weekend!

Sigh my room is clean
Since my room is clean I have nothing left to procrastinate with. I feel like I want to do something tonight, but I don't know what. I don't feel like going out htough I think. I'm so indecisive today it's annoying.

oh so much chocolate
My brother Michael got me chocolate and a gift certificate for my birthday. The chocolate is currently being consumed at an alarming rate. Now if this were, say a couple of boxes of Smarties this wouldn't be so bad. I would eat the boxes, feel a little sick, but I would have no other chocolate left to consume. This is not the case.
Michael bought me Smarties and Hershey's Kisses from the Bulk Barn, so basically I have ALOT of Smarties and Hershey's Kisses. I've seen babies that weigh less than these bags. And oh man is it good. I'm in chocoalte heaven over here. I fear though that I will be more than slightly hung over on chocolate tomorrow.
On a side note, does anyone use the proper finger when pressing shift? I always use the right pinky. No matter if I should use the left or not. Like when I just capitalized that 'L' and the 'I' I totally used my right pinky when it should have been the left. I also use my right thumb for all spacebar related moves. Is that normal? Anyone else?

So some thoughts
I don't feel strengthend by this. Or empowered. I just feel a little a more lost than I was before.

Open Letter to the Blackeyed Peas
Dear Blackeyed Peas,
Alliteration does not make everything ok. Alliteration will not save the worst song lyric of all time. And if you ever use the term; "Lovely Lady Lumps" again, I will stop supporting your song; "Don't Phunk With My Heart" and of course if I stop supporting that song I will also have to stop supporting that other song of yours, the one that sounds JUST LIKE IT!
Oh and don't rhyme 'hump' with 'hump'. There are plenty of other words that rhyme with 'hump'.
Love always,
Christine

Good Weekend
So I had a very excellent weekend.
I went shopping on Friday, I bought new pants! I almost bought new shoes but they didn't fit right. Friday night I went to a Barenaked Ladies Concert with Mike. You have two options to read my review of the concert.
Option 1: This one is for all those of you who really wanted to go but for some reasons could not go to the concert.
The concert was awful. They didn't even play their own songs! They just did covers of B4-4 songs. Disgraceful. AND they poked everyone in the eye on the way out. Awful.
Option 2: This one is for people who got to see the concert, or are indifferent.
The concert was amazing. It was their Christmas concert so they played from their Christmas CD. They also played old stuff (I think they did a song from every CD) and they did a couple songs which are going to be on their new CD. I think my favourite was when the drummer sang Felise Navidad. So good!
Saturday day I went to Bodyworlds with Angus. So. Cool. Dead people, plasiticized, so you can see all their organs and muscles and bones. It was fascinating, to see everything on the inside. We also ate pizza hut, which was delicious. Saturday night I watcehd RENT, it was a fantastic movie. I had never seen it on stage though, so maybe I have no idea what I am talking about. Either way it was great.
Sunday night was dinner with family. mmmmm.... bloor street diner.
It was a good weekend.

End of Shift
Walksafe is almost over for the night. I got a whole lot of work done while walksafing. I was abe to find a thesis, outline my essay and finish writing about two of the subheadings for the essay. This essay is supposed to be 12 pages long and is due Thursday, while not an unreasonable length I really wish I had started writing this earlier.
In other news...
MY BIRTHDAY WAS AMAZING!
Dinner with Mike and Jo was good, well the service was not excellent but Mike and Jo are always fun. Jo made me a cake which was delicious. We then went to HP4 at Imax! I enjoyed the movie. Yes there were parts that were changed and left out and that was quite the frustrating. On the whole though I thought it was a great movie. Oh and I ate movie popcorn, which is always good.
On my actual birhtday I got to go to church for the first time in ages. It was fun seeing everyone and it was fun casually slipping into the conversation that it was my birthday! The rest of the day I worked on an assignement that was due tomorrow, I finished it too! That was my gift to me. We also went out for dinner as a family (minus one brother :( ).
I have of course recieved many a present for my birthday, but I will not list them in fear of looking tacky and superficial.
Time to head back to HQ so I must be off.

Hungry
Gah. I am both frustrated and hungy.
I really want to eat melted cheese right now. On pizza, on nachos, on anything really, just some melted cheese. Instead I am eating rice cakes. Because I don't own cheese. By the time I go out and buy some cheese and melt it, it will be dinner time. I will have to satisfy this craving another time.
I am frustrated because the check out system at the biggest library is ridiculous. At the same desk is:
1. Checkout
2. Issuing new library cards
3. Renewals
4. Hey where's my book?
5. Can I get that book from somewhere else?
Option 1 and 3 should have a seperate desk because they are such speedy processes. But they don't. Instead I waited 20 minutes to check out my books. The line up wasn't long, it was just that three people were getting library cards made and that is a very long process. Very annoying.

Not Damp, But Soaking Wet
Walksafe is most interesting today, and by 'most' I mean 'moist' and by 'moist' I mean completly soaking wet.
It is raining. And it's not fooling around out there, it's being pretty damn serious folks. A few of the streets here look like they belong in Venice. I don't just need hipwaders, I need neckwaders. In short, I am wet.
In other news my young but oldest brother has a very special day today. Today is his.....
BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!
yay for mikey! Happy birthday great brother! I hope your day was magical and filled with delicious food.
In even more news I am currently (as is everyone) swamped by projects. I have many assignemtns, readings, a yearbook to edit and grad schools to apply to.... wait... no... that's Shashi. Damn. I believe I just have three assignments then a test to slog through before exams, so while not Shashi-busy, I am still busy.
That's it for now, unless we walksafe ourselves to another computer.

Always sleepy!
I dislike that I am constanly sleepy, even when I get more than enough sleep I need to nap during the day. I feel I would get a lot more done if it wasn't for my sleepyness. Angus suggested that maybe I'm aenemic (I so can't spell that word). This made sense, except for the fact that I donate blood regularly, and they don't let you do that if you're aenmic. So the sleepyness persists.
There is this display at the science center I want to see, I thought of going and seeing it this weekend but that wouldn't leave me much time to do anything else. It's a really cool exihibit (I think that was too many i's). It's real human (dead) bodies on display. Presereved and stuff so you can see every little part. That is so cool.
Anyway this day has been going well so I'm pretty happy (maybe that's related to the nap I just had. Off to dinner!

Brain fried
I had a test yesterday, I think it's safe to say I won't want to be seeing the results. I finished an assignment due for tonight which I think went ok. I am currently walksafing and am suffering from the shortest internet attention span of all time. I flip between reading blogs to reading emails to reading nothing. I think my eyes don't want to look at a computer screen. I was up late last night so I'm running on low sleep, maybe that's why I can't focus on anything.
The Canadian Tire Christmas party on Saturday was amazing. So much fun. Lots and lots of drunk people and lots and lots of dancing. Have I mentioned that I love most of the people I work with? They're really nice people, so friendly and kind. And people bought me drinks which was nice. Mostly the fun random dancing was the best part.
I'm going to surf on somewhere else now.

Going Home
I love going home. I love living in rez too. Just sometimes it's nice to go home, for oh so many reasons. Because it's home, because I can where pajamas and eat breakfast, cause my mom and dad and brother are there. Because it's cozy. And often I like going home because it's a huge reminder that there is a world outside. As a student I find I can get lost in student life. In studying endlessly, trying to jam in parties, trying to enjoy my friends and all the drama that goes along with that.
When I go home I find it easier to remember that the next quiz will not make or break my entire life. I can remember that the latest drama doesn't matter. And my job is simple, I mean it's hard to do, but there isn't much I take home with me, outside of hilarious stories of stupidty, kindness and rudeness. I love my life here, but I'm glad I can get a reality check every other weekend.
In other news I have a pedometer! It's a little gizmo that counts my steps. U of T is having this pedometer challenge, so for a $12 deposit you can count your steps. Our don started a step challenge on our floor and many people have gotten into it. Last night I broke 20,000 steps (before I was around 12,000). I think Angus and I's trip down yonge street was what put me over the edge. Today has been a low step day, around 1,200 right now. I think work will be insane though, I'll probably reach, roughly, a million. Yup I'd say a million is a damn accurate estimate.

weekend review
My weekend was fantastic. oh the goodness was extreme.
On friday there was a halloween party on campus. It was packed as usual, so packed I had to sneak in the side entrance with a group of my friends because no one was being allowed in. This meant that I did not have a hand stamp, so I couldn't leave all night. So has friends came and left I changed who I was haning out with. It was a lot of fun, I went as a ballet dancer.
Saturday I had a wonderful evening out wtih Alex, Jon and Angus. We took a little tour around Indigo where I fell in love with some books. We went to Amato's Pizza where I had a delicious slice of pizza goodness. Then we saw Mirrormask which was a very well done movie. Excellent plot with mindblowing special effects. Afterwards we ingested crepes which are the most delcious food source imaginable. We then hit up The Rex, a jazz bar. I was suitably impressed. A very adventourous evening with some great people.
Sunday night rocked, altoough I can't remember why.
Oh Shashi, I called your house by accident the other day, I meant to call my friend Stef, you are alphabetically simmilar.

Midtermtastic
My life is currently filled with the joy that is midterms. Three this week (two on Wed, one on Thurs). What is glorious is that after they are done I will be free for over a week. I plan to get a lot of studying done and work on other projects. I also intend to see a few of my non school friends.
This Saturday I am rocking out with Alex and Jon. We are going to eat some food and see a movie, what kind of food/movie I don't know. I presume it will be artsy and intelligent (the movie, I prefer not to eat things that still sentinent). The food will of course be delicious, unless it's asian cusine, not that there is anything wrong with asian, I just happen to not enjoy it. I'm more of a pasta, pizza, meat person..... but not all at the same time... that's just excessive.
Next Wednesday may bring a visit with ye olde Mike K. He may be busy though, at which point I will veg like there is no tomorrow.
Thursday is Angus time. We will take back Poland, and perhaps eat something.
I have still not decided on plans for this Friday, I have a few options, all involve costumes.
It would appear that I actually have a life, despite the scaryness of midterms.
Study time!

oh the weekend
I got, I think, a lot accomplished this weekend. A lot of work got done and some fun was had.
I just finished decorating two doors, we have two birthdays on the floor tomorrow, so us birthday ninjas were out with our tissue paper and streamers. I have to spend a portion of tomorrow getting people to sign the card, which means sitting in the common room, which means me not studying. On the upside everyone loves getting a card filled with signatures.
My room is currently an advertisement for febreeze. I sort of went a little febreeze crazy. Here is a list of things I febreezed:
1. My floor.
2. my curtains
3. My bed
4. My purse (who does that?)
5. My backpack
6. My gym bag thingy (this bag that Michael gave me)
All of this stuff sits in the same little room, my life is very febreezy.
I have been instructed that I owe Alex an evening out, perhaps something involving crepes or alchoal. I belive we should combine the two, and do so soon. Perhaps I should actually talk to Alex about this, instead of randomly blogging about it. Have I mentioned that I think Alex is the greatest?
I should sleep now, but I think I'm going to play a little chuzzle first.

Morning after
OK so that last post was hilarious.
I ended up finishing 6 or 7 shots. Those shots did not stay with me the whole night though.
We ended up going out to a bar afterwards. A lot of crazyness happened, including a soap dispenser explosion.
We started missplacing people, which was bad, but by the end of the night we figured out that we all got home safely.
I believe I called Mike K at some point last night, that strikes me as an odd thing to do.
I have lots of work to do this weekend, well just a lot of studying and two assignments to do.
I'm heading to Stratford tonight at 4:30~ Yay! Jo and I are going to a play... yay team.

Another Walksafe post
I am currently walksafing. No walks yet tonight. I have managed to do my readings for tomorrow morning's class, and clean out my email.
My weekend was phenomenal. Friday I got a surprising amount done, that was due in large part to Angus' patience.
Dinner was delicious. I think I am addicted to chocolate martini's though. I love eating at the restaurant Angus and I went to, the atmosphere is amazing and the food is delicious. Janet it was the same place you and I went to when you came for a visit.
Jon Stewart was so good. He was on for an hour and a half! Non stop stand up comedy. He wasn't wearing a suit though which threw me for a minute. He also swears more than I expected, it wasn't offensive just noticeable. Like watching Shawshank redemption on CityTV and then watching the real movie and seeing how much they swear in the un bleeped version.
Saturday work was great, our store cat keeps sneaking inside now because it's cold. She's taken to biting people who put her outside, luckily I never take her outside (because I can't leave my desk) so she still likes me.
For Saturday dinner Mikey and I hit up Harvey's! Always fun to eat dinner with Mikey, catch up and hear what's new.
Saturday night I had a wonderful evening with Jon, Randeep and Angus. Angus was gracious enough to let me eat half his waffle, he probably thougt it was less, but I so ate half of it.
Sunday night I spent with family. Michael and I watched our old favourite Extreme Home Makeover. I love that show. I went to bed at like 10 because I was exhausted from the combo of late nights and early mornings.
This Friday Jocelyn and I will be attending a play in Stratford! I have never been. The play is called "Into to Woods", I loved it when I saw it in Aurora so I think it will be super cool at Stratford.
I will sadly have to miss Oliver Sacks talk at U of T because I will be home to work. He wrote the book "The man who mistook his wife for a hat", on visual agnosia. I think I will read it next summer.
Oh! I am currently reading Freakonomics. This book is amazing, very interesting. I highly recommend it to anyone (shout outs (ha!) to Angus for lending and recommending this book to me).
C'est fini!

Sunday Night
I had an excellent weekend.
Friday was Funk and Soul, the annual party of 70's funk fashion. It's drinking and dancing at our college bars, good times to the tune of 'love train' and 'dancing queen'. I discovered that a shot of malibu rum, mixed with the apple sauce that comes in the little plastic containers is very delicious. And confusing when you wake up in the morning and can't figure out how you dirtied that spoon.
There is popcorn all over my florr cause a bunch of drunk people were eating popcorn in my room. It's perfectly fine because I had to vaccuum anyway, and now when I vacuum I will feel like I accomplished something.
Saturday night I was supposed to have gone out with Jon and Alex. Due to some crazy mixups I ended up not seeing them. Instead my parents invited me to see the show they were seeing on campus; Corner Gas Live. It was fantastic. Great standup and cast interviews. So hilarious. Then desert, hmmmmmm chocolate cake (we had swiss challet for dinner!) . Heading back to my rez we ran into my cousin who lives here and my cousin who lives in Montreal (she was visiting her sister). My plans to get to bed before 2:00 (for the first time in days) went out the window. It was around 2 when I got to sleep.
Today Angus Came down for a shopping trip. That Angus is a very patient man. I came home with a fabulous pink tank top, a black wrap around sweater and perhaps the greatest red tank top thingy of all time.
All of this was intersperced with studying for my perception test tomorrow.
This week will include a glorius visit from Mike on Wednesday!!!!! Oh and Pilates starts on Thursday! And something else... something else.... now what could it be?
Jon Stewart!!!!!!!!!!
I am beyond exited

blah
It's only like the fourth week (or something) and I am tired of being here. Maybe that's the trouble with moving into the same place you just lived in, it just feels like a continuation. The monotony of everything is getting to me... classess, homework and the meals! Oh my how I hate the meals. Why did I have to be born so picky?? Why must I hate corn and peas and potatoes (unless they're in chip or french fry form)??? Why don't I like fish? Or pork? I'm really tired of going to sleep hungry. I pay approximately $9 a meal, I should not leave unsatisfied!
Maybe it's just because I haven't been getting enough sleep lately and that's made me grumpy, whatever it is I am tired of being unpleasant to be around.
Shashi, one of the main functions of walksafe is to walk people back from class. We're there to make sure people feel safe in their everyday life.
There is a party tonight, I will be attending and I will hopefully be having a good time. I guess that is all for now.
Maybe it's just because I haven't been getting enough sleep lately and that's made me grumpy, whatever it is I am tired of being unpleasant to be around.

WalkSafing
I am currently walksafing. I have realized that perhaps I have never explained what goes on.
My shift starts at 7:00 on Tuesday nights. We start at the U of T campus police department. From there we get put into teams of two (each team always has at least one girl). We get coats and windbreakers. We get told of any walks that were prearranged for the night then we set out. We basically walk around campus for five hours (shift ends at midnight). We wander around doing 'building checks' and letting the police know where we are every half hour. If a call comes in to request a walk dispatch dispatches one of the teams and we walk them to where they need to go.
Tonight's building checks have consited of:
Syd Smith: Where I read the latest issue of our campus newspaper.
Gerstein Library: Where I checked my email and my walk partner got movie reviews for the movie he wants to see on Sat.
Pita Pit: Ok technically this was while we were on break, but pita pit was damn safe while we were there. I did get to find out that I don't like onions.
Hart House: Where I read this month's issue of Time Magazine. Does Time actually claim to be a hard hitting news magazine? Cause it's not.
WoodsWoorth residence: Where I fell asleep by accident on the common room couch.
Robarts Library: Where I am currently blogging.
I know this sounds like crap but we are doing an actual job. We keep our eyes open for suspicious stuff, for example last week one of the walksafers broke up a fight. And we also act as a walking billboard for the walksafer service. We also provide directions for people... that's right, I'm out giving directions to people, and they're actually good directions.
In other news, I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but Angus and I are heading to Jon Stewart on October 7th. He's doing stand up at Massey Hall. The event, I can only assume, will be the pinnacle of my life.

insert witty title here
I am off to my physilogical psych class. It's all about the workings of the brains, axons and dendrites and the like. After that is yoga. Yoga is quite relaxing but then all my muscles are pulled. Then dinner, then walksafe. I'm not sure if I can keep doing yoga all year, because it means that from about 1:40-midnight I'm not getting any homework done on Tuesdays. I have a wednesday morning class that I don't think I'll be able to do the readings for. Meh, I'll just see if it works out and stop going if I have to.
I finished an assignment for tomorrow's soc of language class. It's supposed to be about a moment where the intracacies of language touched my soul. I wrote about doing crosswords puzzles with Janet in physics class.
Rez life continues to be interesting. It seems we have picked up where we left off last year, with secrets and the telling of those secrets. And of course there are old animosities that are still floating around. I appear to have been flagged as neutral ground, so I get info. from all sides. I have no desire to tell these secrets because the shit is disturbed enough around here.
I still can't decide if I can do this literacy program thing (where I help adults learn to read). I'm not sure I will have enough time for everything.
bah, I have to get to class.

exhausted
Today seemed like a very long day. I was up till 4 last night just chatting with a girl who lives on my floor. I was very tired today, and grumpy. So I avoided most public involvement. I am off to bed now. so sleepy.

Sleepy
I am so sleepy. Yet I am blogging.
Things have been going great. Classes are good. Walksafe is amazing! Did I mention I signed up for pilates? So exciting. It starts in October.
So much news, yet so sleepy. Just know that I am alive and quite happy.

Walk Safe!
I walksafed! It was great. We had one call. We walked her good. I get a police notebook, and a radio, and a blue jacket, and id! And I met a lot of cops. And it was cool. We walked a girl across campus. My partner's name was Vlad. He was quite nice. He is also in crim.
A very exciting night. Now my legs hurt so much.
Good night!

First Class Done
The staff party was fantasic. There was dancing and drinking. The best part was the dancing. Who knew I would love dancing?
Last night I had Perception (psychology). It went for the full three hours, and apparently it always will. It was quite interesting, most of class was spent debunking Naive Realism. The last hour really dragged because we were talking about refraction and lenses and a whole bunch of other angle related crap.
Soon I am off to Physiol. Psy. I don't even remember what Physiol is a short form for. It's also three hours.
Tonight I WalkSafe!!! I will be in charge of the safety and securtity of someone. I'm really excited, although I have no idea what it's going to be like.
I'm also hoping to do this literacy program thingy with the libraries. Where I help someone learn to read. Then maybe a class at the University Gym.
Anyway, I am off, to learn, to grow, to nap.

Frosh week update
OK so frosh week not as scary as expected. Actually it's been quite good.
I'm a little sniffly right now with a cold, or maybe alergies. But the headache I have seems to be cold related.
I'm working on redecorating my room. I covered my bulletin board with cool wrapping paper so now it's all artsy and fun.
Anybody else have any room decorating ideas? I hope to hit poster sales next week, but I want something big and colorful.
I've reunited with a lot of old friends. I've gone out a few times. Oh! White Russians and Black Russians (they are drinks). They are most delicious! White Russians are just chocolate milk. That's it. So delicious.
Tomorrow is a staff party. In honour of someone I don't really like. But on the upside I like everyone else, and everyone else will be there so... PARTY!.

moving in
I thrive on comfort and routine. Big chunks of undefined time are frightening to me. I know this does not make sense, because a couple months from now, when everything is running at full steam, I will be begging for some extended free time. But right now Frosh week looms at me terrifylingly empty. It's causing a free floating anxiety. I move in tomorrow and am quite nervous.
My anxiety sort of multiplies on itself because I focus on it and that makes everything worse.
Logic dictates that things will go well. And even if they don't go well, they won't be awful.
OK so the plan is to focus on not freaking out.

Dollar Store Fun
My nice analog watch broke (so I'm back to digital) so I went to Winners to see if they had any watches. I wandered the whole store to see if there were any watches and I couldn't find any. I asked one of the counter staff if they had watches and she said; "Sometimes...". Me: "Um..... is now one of those times?" "I don't think so."
So no watches at Winners so no watch for me today.
I went to the Dollar store today and discovered lots of helpful stuff. I picked up a new glass in which to hold my toothbrush, two sets of double picture frames and three roles of wrapping paper for a project I'm starting. All of this was quite exciting. The only downside was that I had rode my bike to this shopping spree and then had to figure out a way to ride home with it all.
Anyway very succesful.

WalkSafe
I'm hoping to be a WalkSafe member this year. Basically I would walk people home and stuff. The WalkSafe guy doesn't come back until September 1st so then hopefully I will have an interview. I now have little post it notes all over my desktop that say WalkSafe! It looks like I'm trying to remind myself to be careful while walking.
I want to be very involved this year so hopefully I will be accepted for the walksafe position. I think I will also join a club on top of that.
On a side note, if any of you enjoy Dean Koontz please read his book Odd Thomas. The book is phenomenal.

I complain nnnnnow
So I am about to complain, for all those of you who don't want to read about me complaining you can skip this entry.
Mostly I'm just trying to sort stuff out and I figure writing it out might help.
I seem not to have enough time next week. I have promised a few people that I will see them and I don't know when to fit it all in. I'm also going away with my parents for two days. Plus work. I also have to fit in an interview for WalkSafe at school. Which means going all the way to school and back. All on a day I will probably have to work.
So to sum up I am frustrated.

Mikey's Home!
Mikey got home on Saturday! He is home for the week. There will be some good mikeyness this week.
I sadly did not get to see much of Mikey on Saturday, I worked all day and came home and fell asleep at about 9:30. I was exhausted and grumpy.
On Friday night I went to my first concert ever! (excluding Sharon Lois and Bram, and of course the gold band ones). Green Day!!! It was amazing. OK so I did not enjoy the first two bands (AntiFlag and Jimmy Eat World). Jimmy Eat World was ok, but AntiFlag is far from my favourite. Mind you I am not their target audience, I am not looking to change the world through a violent revlotion that will eliminate the government, I am looking to change the world with hugs, and perhaps free coupons to eat at Arby's.
There were beach balls and the concert and of course lighters and swaying. I wanted to crowd surf but it seemed like possibly a bad idea. Green Day was excellent live, they interacted with the audience beautifully.
I had lots of fun at my first concert.
Tonight I will be seeing Heather! Yay!
Supper is ready!

Mr. Henry and Fear Factor
Jocelyn, Heather, Daley, my parents and I all went to music in the park tonight. We watched the Black Board Blues Band! They were fantastic. Classics and really great music. It was a really great night. My Dad bought the CD. I love nights like that.
I love Fear Factor! And Amercia's Most Funniest Home Videos and crappy reality tv. I will admit it. I find it all fabulous and great. I love watching shows like Televisions Greatest Moments. I love the garbage that is just there to make you laugh. Or in the case of Fear Factor, make you gag.

Rez
In response to Janet's inquiring mind, I am living in rez again. I am living in the same room actually. Perhaps this was a bad idea. Perhaps I need change. A chance to flex and stretch. But not much use pontificating on this idea. I have a room, assignments are done. I'm living where I am and it has lots of upsides. I'm in the perfect place in the hall. Close to the bathrooms but far away enough that they're no noisy. Close to the common room but far away enough that I don't hear it. AND right next to the full length mirror in the hall.
I hope you're all well. Welcome home those of you who have freshly arrived.
Good night all.

Clutter and Time
My room is so cluttered. It's been cluttered all summer. It seems I can't move anything without other stuff falling over. I just haven't had a chance to clean it out.
It seems I don't have enough time for everything. I have a lot to finish doing before I'm ready for school. I don't seem to have enough time to see everybody I want to see. And I don't seem to have enough time for just me. Plus there's working. Lots and lots of working.
On a lighter note, I've reformatted my computer!!! With a little help from Angus (what the hell is a partition?) my computer is reborn. OK not completely reborn but it's definetly doing better. I installed my printer today! Yay!

I don't Feel Very Good
Being angry doesn't phsycially agree with me. I don't like this at all. I don't know if I have done the right thing or not. I don't mean the right, good and honest moral thing. I mean I don't know if I 've done the right thing for me. To swallow all this anger can't be good. But actually letting it out on it's cause does not seem to have benefits. I was hurt and I feel betrayed but I don't think that telling the person will actually have any benefit. I don't want to be involved in any games or backstabbing. I just want this gone because I hate what it's doing to my stomach.

Movies!
I have seen many movies recently. What follows is a run down of these movies.
Miss Congenialty 2 (ok so I can't spell congeniality but you get the idea)
This movie was hilarious. I loved every part of it, except at the end with this really cheesy rescue seen. Anyway it was great. And stuck true to the old movie as well. I give this movie 8 stars (on a scale of 5).
Little Black Book.
This movie was great. It was not your classic romantic comedy that every said it was. It was heartwarming and touching. And It contained the words "You can't corner the Midget Market!". This movie gets 6 stars.
The Island.
When I asked Randeep and Jon what this movie was about they said; "Natalie Portman". It was also about clones. It turned out to be a really good movie. Filled with twists and of course, the occasional turn. This movie will not win an oscar though, I think once you hit the two car chase mark you aren't allowed to win an oscar. I give this movie 5 stars.
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
This movie was good. It's best moment was the Cannabilism line. It had some plot differences from the original and from the book. The oompa loompas were freaky because the actor had been in the 9th season of X-Files as this body jumping creature, where he'd live inside you and you'd be dead but nobody would know because you still could move and stuff. Then when the autopsy is performed (after the body snatcher leaves) Scully says; "This person has been dead for a week!" So that made the oompa loompas all creepy. Oh! and they didn't sing; "Oompa loompa dopity do, we've got another riddle for you". This was dissappointing. I still prefer Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka. I give this movie 5 stars.
Life Aquatic
This movie had the slowest start ever. OK not ever, but damn was it slow.
The movie did pick up. It was hilarious in a dead pan sort of way. "Ok Interns lets see some Zisou hussle!"and other such hilarious moments. The movie was not nearly has hilarious as the commercials made it out to be. If you're looking for a hilarious Bill Murry movie watch Scrooged instead. This movie gets 4 stars.
Unbreakable.
I had seen this movie before a long time ago in theaters. I had hated it the moment after it was over. But it grew on me and eventualy I really liked it. I watched it with Peter and Angus. The second viewing was good. Odd plot and weird unexpected tie in with comic books. On the whole an ok movie, could have used more hilarity. This movie gets only 4 stars.
Triplets of Bellville.
This was an animated movie with limited script. It was quite hilarious and enjoyable. I can't think of much else to say about this movie other than it earns 5 stars.
Dead Man (or something like that)
I can't quite remember if that's the real title of this movie. Quite frankly it's not important because I don't want to remember anything about this movie. This movie was awful. It had Johnny Depp in it but that didn't even save it. It barely had a plot, and the thin waif of a plot it did have was horribly borring. I did not even finish watching this movie. I got an hour into it hoping it would go somewhere, I realized it wasn't going to so I stopped watching it. It reminded me of About Schmidt, a movie which I also disliked. This movie gets no stars! That's right not even a pity star!
OK so that is all my recent movie watching.

T.O.D.
When is it appropriate to call time of death on a friendship?
Most friendships just end naturally, you drift apart and just don't talk anymore.
There are friendships that end in fights. But from TV to Ann Landers most mediums send the message that the friendship is more important than the fight. Burrying the hatchet will leave you with a friendship to last a lifetime. Leaving that hatchet to loiter in the sun will leave you with a lifetime of regret. With all this helpful advice it would seem that no matter the cause of the blowout friends should stay friends forever.
Relationships break up. There is almost invariably a moment that can be cited as the official break up. While often it is argued that the relationship was emotionally over a long time previous to the offical T.O.D. there is usually a point that can be said without question that the relationship is done.
Friendships rarely part with such precision.
What if a relationship is toxic? Dissappointing? Is it possible to call an end to a friendship without being labeled as someone callous?
The real question of this entry I guess is, did I use callous in the right context? Did I even spell it right? Damn my laziness. Dictionary.com is not that far away and yet callous (sic???) remains unchecked.

A big week and courses!!!
I had a very big week last week. The highlight of which was celebrating Jocelyn's birthday. We bingoed!!! I almost won 1 500! I would have been rich! But such was not the case.
I signed up for courses! I got most of what I wanted. There were two crim courses that I did not get, but I will take them next year. My only non degree course is Sociology of language. How cool is that? First semester I will be learning mostly psych. I will post later about specifics. I will be learning about young offenders and the sociology of language.
I now get to fill out my new organizer!!! yay!
Oh! Michael. If you don't mind would you please remove your link to my blog from your blog? I would appreciate it because there a few people I would prefer not to find this blog. thank you.

Various ponderings
I don't know if I've posted this before but if I have then I'm sorry.
I'm dissappointed with my vitamins. I've been taking them for awhile because my doctor said I should. I was secretly hoping they would give me super powers. Well not like being able to fly kind of super powers but you know, me, but better. I have yet to notice a difference.
Does anybody know who uses unwaxed dental floss? Cause I don't think anybody does. I know that unwaxed dental floss used to have a purpose, like before we got the waxed stuff. But we have the waxed stuff now. I think the only reason it's still for sale is because people keep picking it up by accident. They're in a hurry and pick up dental floss not stopping to check if it's waxed or unwaxed, why? Because they cannot believe that unwaxed is still for sale! Cause it hurts and it's awful.

My white t-shirt
I am in love with my new white t-shirt. I have never owned a white t-shirt before. All white was resereved for wearing under my uniform. But now that I am wearing one, it's fantastic. It's so crisp and clean. It even survived taco night. I like it when simple things make me happy.

Cottage stuff
I had an amazing time at Mike's cottage. Paddle boating with Jocelyn and swimming. I got to meet some of Mike's Bingo friends, they are quite nice. I played poker and it was amazing! Texas hold em. I won a whole round!!! I rocked. But I also lost a lot. Oh and I read on the dock for hours. It was an amazing weekend, so amazing that I did not mind the return of LOBSTER GIRL. Except this time Lobster girl had spread. But now has faded to a brilliant tan.
I am now watching Extreme Home Makover. I love this show. I meam it's all about making people cry with the heartwrenching stories, but still, I love this show.
I am currently reading Christopher Reeve's book.. .ok I don't remember the title, but it's good. I am a little thrown off cause I always thought his name was Christopher Reeves. With an s but it's not
It appears that I will be haning out with Jon and the Deepinator more often. I can only say that I am extremely excited.

What the heck is with this gap?
So I'm trying to figure out what is with this gap I've got going on above my Montreal post. I'm hoping that just typing will fix it.

Montreal, a summation.
So this post got lost somewhere, I have managed to resurect it, it may be a little changed though. OH! Something I just remembered. Aurora has concerts in the park. The Black Board Blues Band is the star of one!
I aware that I haven't posted about Montreal, but what follows is a glorius summation of my experience.
Friday night we drove out to the airport. My Dad took pictures of everything. Photos of me on the moving sidewalk, photos of me walking the opposite way on the moving sidewalk. Securtiy was fast, things that would have made it faster:1. Me not wearing a belt with a metal buckle.2. My Dad not wearing cargo pants. In the terminal I saw a Watermark bookstore that was so beautiful. Waterfalls built into the walls, clean lighting, so many books. But those books weren't 5 for a dollar. Oh no they were not.
I ate pizza for dinner, from a place like Miss. Vannelis, where they have the pizza under the light then throw it in the oven after you order. Except they did not put this pizza in the oven. It was light warm. The bottom was a little doughy.
On the plane I got the winow seat, my Dad took many pictures. The takeoff was scary, I think my mom lost all feeling in her left hand. There were pretzles for snacks and drinks. They played that day's news as our inflight movie. The flight attendants were very nice. When my Dad told them it was my first flight I got to meet the pilots afterwards. They were also very nice. We flew up above the clouds, the sky was so blue, and it was so bright.
My cousin picked me up from my parent's hotel room. We drove to her place and she explained why my aunt hates her place. Her apartment is next to a piercing parlor, which is next to a tatoo parlour which is next to an 'adult video store'. Right across from my cousin's house is a goth store. But really, the piercing parlor and everything was high end. I bet all the rich kids in Montreal go to this tatoo parlor to get their navels pierced, it was classy.
Friday night we were going to go out but we were tired. One of my cousin's friends works at the best steakhouse in Montreal, he came over with steaks. We ate them and drank red wine. The steak was delicious, the red wine I did not finish.
The next morning we started our shopping spree. We walked pretty much everywhere, and went into any store that looked interesting. There was also a street sale and we walked that too.
In total I bought:
1. A white t-shirt
2. A blue t-shirt with buttons
3. A white halter top
4. A red sparkly halter for dancing and partaying in
5. A black fancy skirt
6. A blue skirt from American Apparel. You can see it here : http://www.americanapparelstore.com/rsa2301.html
7. White sandles (of death)
8. A bath bomb
9. Face mask stuff.
10. LipGlass
11. An eyeshadow stick
While I was in the dressing room of the store with the red shirt my cousin was handing me clothes to try on. From across the store my cousin said; "oooh this is slutty, you should try it on!" The whole store agreed. My shirt was ten dollars, they were having a promotional sale and apparently "all sparkly things are $10".
That night I had dinner at delicious restaurant. Then crepes, oh I was so full. We didn't go out that night either, a bunch of my cousin's friends came over and we sat around talking and drinking red wine. By the time we decided to go out half of us were asleep.
The Sunday morning we went to St. Viasomething for a bagle breakfast, Angus was right, they were delicious. We then went to Tam Tams. It's this party in a park that happens every Saturday morning. People, many people come to the park and play on bongos. Others dance, others watch. At the same time an elaborate sword fight occurs, with ducktape shields and plastic swords. None of this is controlled by anyone. There are no proffesional ring leaders for the drummers, they all just play. There was also a lot of pot. A person could get high just walking through the crowds.
We stopped by a museum but it was closing. We then met my parents for dinner. Then the flight home. I really enjoyed my stay in Montreal, apparently so did my luggage, so it didn't join us on our flight and stayed a little while longer. It arrived, with my Dad's suitcase, on the following Tuesday. My new halter top was worn shortly after.
That was my Montreal trip. Next entry will probably be about my trip to Mike's cottage.

oh my feet hurt
I am currently in Montreal. Just sitting for a minute. We walked EVERYWHERE. I went on what can only be described as a 'spree'. I am broke. Please no one remind me of all the money I have spent. I don't think anyone would believe how much money I am out, because I am usually quite a cheap-o person. No books though! Oh hell I spent a lot of money. Heather! I went to American Apparel!!! I bought a skirt. Oh I will find it online and perhaps link it here eventually. Oh what a good day. I will describe later all I bought. I may pass out though, at the thought of how much money I spent. Oh dear. All future outings with me must not involve money. Unless it involves people giving me money. OK so if anyone wants to hang out with me, we must do it while I am at work and getting paid. This rule will apply till oh, 5 years from now.
I am broke. But oh so happy

MONTREAL!!!! SOON
I leave today! YAY! Montreal! On an airplane! I will see my cousin! We will hang out and have fun. We will shop probably. And eat good food. Maybe find some of the bagels that Angus recommended. See the sights. MONTREAL! Yay.
Oh I hit a book sale today. Used books 25 cents, or 5 for a dollar. 15 books need to find a home in my room now.
I'm off for the weekend. I hope you all have fun.

oh so much
I have a lot to blog about. Cause I haven't blogged in awhile. But I may not finish, cause I may leave to go somewhere so this may stop mid entry.
I went on a picnic! I went with Angus. A bird pooped on me. But other than the bird poop the picnic was excellent. Cookies and hamburgers and stuff. And Blueberrys. Oh and slushies. Oh! Am I wrong, or should batteries be stored in the fridge?
The picnic took place in a park in Newmarket, and there was this eco fest going on at the time, playing nice music. It was all quite fun.
Saturday night I went to Randeep's BD BBQ. I had a lot of fun. It was great hanging out with them, because they're all quite nice and friendly. Very... wonderful people to hang out with. I've been invited to hang out more, I think I will.
Sunday Mike was home!!! Yay! We went for coffee, except neither of us consumed coffee during the entire time, even though we ended up in Pickering.
OK so there is more to blog about, but my head really hurts.

I am a little surburnt and BOOKS!
OK so I put sunscreen all over my self. Except for the part of my back over the top of my bathing suit. So that part of my back is pink, the rest of me is not that tan. It kinda hurts when I sit in the car. But the burn came from a nice day of lazyness, so I will accept my Lobster Girl status.
I finished Wicked. It was very detailed. I really reccommend it. I think it's a summer read though. It would be a little intense to read while studying in school.
I went to the library!!! First up is The Devil Wears Prada. Then I have a book by Dave Berry. Then Anywhere But Here. A book called Running With Scissors, an autobiography about a man who overcame a horrendus youth. And then a book by Maya Angelou. Daley recommended a book to me. I don't remember what it is though. So I couldn't take it out.
I wasn't going to read The Da Vinci Code, but then Jocelyn really recommended it, so it has been added to my summer reading list.
Last Saturday was wine night at our house. My parents invite friends over and each couple brings a bottle of wine. then it's a blind taste test, and you rank the bottles and you see who wins. Some of the wine is home made, and surprisingly the home made wines win usually. Jocelyn and I helped and then we drove them home. For me it was a lot of fun.
I AM GOING ON AN AIRPLANE!!!!!
I have never been on a plane before!! I am going to Montreal to visit my cousin and I am going to ride in a plane!!!
I got free shoes. My manager looked at my shoes. He said they were all worn out. I said that he shouldn't talk that way, because the shoes could hear him. Just because there were wholes in the shoes and they were covered in bleach and paint did not mean that they were all worn out. So my manager gave me new shoes from the stores foot wear section. Today was my first day with my new shoes. They were heavier than my old ones. Maybe because my old ones were so worn out they weren't really shoes anymore, just the idea of shoes. So I clomp around now. This will take some getting used to.

Beautiful Day
I had coffee with Shashi yesterday. Except neither of us had coffee. I drove there all by myself, and that was fun. I was late, which annoyed me. I don't want to be late, because I don't like it when other people are late. I loved talking with Shashi. And her passion for yearbook is especially fun to watch. That is why I want to find a club or something to be insanely passionate about.
I spent today lounging around in the sun. I also deposited money in the bank. But other than that it was book reading and sun loving. After spending the school year worrying about essays and due dates it was nice to spend the day worrying about my tan.
Jocelyn came over and we watched Back to the Future. Man that movie was fantastic. I also know some stuff about Michael J. Fox's life at that point because of reading his autobiography.
I work tomorrow, and Friday and Saturday and Sunday, probably Monday too. I will have lots and lots of money then.
I guess that is all to this glorius post.

My New Financial Plan
Before I tell you my new financial plan let me explain my old financial plans. The goal of these financial plans is to earn money so that I can pay for school.
The plan that I have been following is to work many hours to earn money and spend very little on stuff that is not tuition.
My new plan is to go on the Price is Right. Some guy just won 3600. And that wasn't even the grand prize. He won it playing Plinko. Plus he still has a chance to spin the wheel. He may even make it to the Showcase Showdown. I will go to the Price is Right, and I will win lots of money. That is my new plan. It could be argued that this plan is faulty because it will cost me a lot to go there, and ontop of that I may not even make it to Contestants Row. Well stop stomping on my dreams is what I say! I would prefer if all ye naysayers would go and say your nays elsewhere.
I have this weekend off, I booked this weekend off so that I could volunteer backstage at my old dance recital. My Mom has organized backstage for years now. She is quite good at it. The fear this year is that she will over exert herself. I think I have the special job of making sure she does not over exert herself. My Mom, as usual, as the special job of making sure I do not under exert myself.
Wicked, will of course be joing me at my recital. Hopefully I don't finish it, because I will not have a chance to visit the Library till Tuesday.

book update
OK so I do not recall what I last posted about books. And I am too lazy to investigate so I'll just tell you what I think you don't already know.
I finished this book called Clara Callan. It was good. It was about this woman in the 30's. About her life and her sister. It's all journal entries and letters between her and other people. It took me a little while to finish it so it wasn't exactly a page turner.
Oh did I mention I read that Enron book? I think I did. Well it was great anyway.
I read Nanny Diaries after Enron. Nanny Diaries was very good. Not really a thinker. For some reason it had a British feel to it, like Bridget Jones' Diary. Except no one said Durrr. Oh one odd thing happened during my reading of it. So the child's name is Grayner. At least I thought it was. I thought this for over half of the book, then suddenly I realized there was no 'n' his name was just Grayer. That was traumatizing to say the least.
After Nanny Diaries was the Clara Callan book. After that was Ellen's book; "the funny thing is..." I recommend that book to everyone! it's hilarious! A very light read. Readable in a day. I actually laughed out loud. Which got to be quite embarrasing cause I read it in the staff room, and other people were there, and they stared at me.
I am now onto Wicked. Angus lent it to me. It is quite different from Ellen, but it's already good.
I have finnaly updated my reading journal to reflect all this. Janet do you still keep yours? I remember you had it in Physics.
I gave blood today. I love giving blood.
I also worked today, but there was no hilarity. Well there was some, in that a lady got fired yesterday (not funny), and they spent all today freaking out because no one could cover her shifts. ahhhh stupid people.

Work thoughts
As much as I complain about work, some hilarity does happen.
For example today a man came in to return a hose. He was quite upset, because this was the second hose he had bought and they both had the same problem. He said; "I plug it in and it leaks from a hundred places!" I then explained to him that it was a sprinkler hose, that leaking is in fact what they do best (for the uninitiated a sprinkler hose is a hose made of porus material, you weave the hose through your garden, turn on the water, and it waters everything at once!) He opted to return the hose and buy a different kind.
Hey do you know what I realized? That story isn't so funny when you have to explain what a sprinkler hose is. Well you're just going to have to trust me, it was hilarious.
Another hilarious story. A man was returning a whole bunch of car parts. I asked if there was something wrong with them (so they do not get put back on the shelf), he said no, that he didn't need them anymore, because his car had exploded. EXPLODED! He had decided not to repair the car after that. There was one thing on the bill that he was not returning, I asked if he had forgotten it or something. He said no, that the part was on the car when it exploded. I secretly still wonder if maybe it was the part we sold him that made his car explode.
Anyway, news in my life; I am helping with my old ballet recital this weekend! Yay! Lots of fun (this is not sarcastic).
Big news! I am going to Montreal in June to visit my cousin for a weekend. I am quite excited. Who knows what we'll do!

Eve's survey thing
I was touched that Eve handed the baton off to me.
I also feel superior to Shashi because I beat her to posting this.
Total music files residing on my computer:
327 songs. Mostly Oldies. A lot of Melissa Etheridge
Last CD I bought:
Joss Jone's CD. For the song Right to be Wrong. Because it came right at a time that I needed it.
Song playing right now:
Um... nothing actually. Just a rerun of friends that is quite amusing.
Five songs I listen to a lot/mean a lot to me (in no particular order):
1. Breakfast at Tiffanys
2. Come To My Window, Melissa Etheridge
3. The Gambler, Kenny Rogers
4. Mack the Knife
5. Leeroy Brown
Four or Five People I'm Passing The Baton To:
1. Shashi (I know I know, that's cheating.... bite me)
2. Heather
3. Janet
4. Angus
5. Kelly

Books and working
OK so an update on my book emergency.
I read Micahel J. Fox's autobiography. That book was fantastic. I read "Anatomy of Greed, the Unshredded truth about Enron" it was also fantastic. It was written by a guy who worked there when it all went to hell. There was a made for tv movie based on it, I had seen it a long time ago and had always wanted to read the book for it. I am now reading "The Nanny Diaries". It's quite good so far. I may finish today or I may actually get some stuff done.
Jon, I would love to take you up on your offer to lent me Eat, Shoots and Leaves. And Angus has offered me Wicked. So I just have to wait on... The Devil Wears Prada, and Ellen's new book.
I've been working a lot lately. Hence why there are very few blog enteries. and when I am not working I've been reading. I anxiously look forward to my pay stub on Thursday. Except I have to go over it carefully because where I work tends to short change people.
I am actually going to a concert this summer! Green Day. I should explain that the last concert I went to was Sharon Lois and Bram. Unless of course you include the Gold Band concerts.
I guess that is all my news for now. Enjoy your day!

Books! and analog not going so well.
So I have an elaborate book tale to tell, but first I have a sad update. My learning to read an analog watch is apparently not going so well. During my book emergency (which is still in progress) my Dad asked me what time it was. I said about 7:40. I returned to watching tv and could not figure out why friends was wrapping. The fact was that hand was not brushing the 8 because it was almost 7:40 but because it was almost 8. I had confused the big hand and little hand.
OK so my book problem. My library has multiple holds on all the books I want to read! 5 People you Meet in Heaven, Wicked, Ellen's New Book, Eats, Shoots and Leaves, the Devil Wears Prada. All of them! The only one left is The book on Enron.

some random thoughts and news
I've had a few, I guess you could call them thought provoking moments. Now don't get all excited, this isn't Plato here, it's just some random stuff that made me smile.
First off Janet, cart before the horse is a saying that basically means you shouldn't get ahead of yourself. Putting the cart in front of the horse is no good, because instead of pulling the cart the horse would push it, but I don't think they would, I think they would trample all over it, and that would ruin the cart.
My mom planted tulips in our back garden. Squirrels took the bulbs and hid them elsewhere so they could eat them later. Now tulips are growing in the middle of our back lawn. My Dad now has to mow around them. It's quite a beautiful and random sight. The squirrels also planted flowers in my mom's front garden. They're purple and quite nice. Those crazy squirrels are great gardeners.
I have recently started wearing an analog watch instead of a digital one. I have obsereved that time seems to pass faster when you wear an analog watch. On a digital watch if 15 minutes have passed by you're not very impressed. But if 15 has passed on an analog watch I think; "Wow! the big hand went all the way over there!" It just seems like more time has passed. I tried explaining this to my friends at school and they looked at me like I was crazy. I stand by my theory.
There is more to post but I am off somewhere so another time.

Randomness before I sleep
I'm going to sleep, but I was thinking stuff.
There was an article in the paper today about some veterans from world war 2. One of them, who had fought on V-Day, came back from the war and was driving for the TTC. That made me sad. I will admit I don't know the whole story, maybe he wanted to drive for the TTC, but this seems sad.
So I am going to bed.

The Job Hunt Continues
I dropped off a resume and cover letter with the Police Department, I hope to be a receptionist for them or someone in their office who types and files things. Except they're not looking for someone so who knows. I'm also applying at Banks.
I went to a job fair at Home Depot today, I had this short little interview thing, I'll know by the end of next week if I get another intereview. But there are so many problems! Like they won't let me work every other weekend during the school year like Canadian Tire does. Maybe I could get a job downtown then. Maybe a job with the school, like at the book store or something. Or at a library. That would be kinda nice, cause they're used to working with student's and their scheduals. And that would help me meet people on campus. Oh maybe this would lead to drinks after work.
My only issue is that my current job is safe. I think I would have to light something on fire there to be fired. So it will be hard for me to leave a job that's so safe. But I will never grow as a person if I don't take risks. And besides the pay is garbage and the managers aren't very nice. One of them is actually quite gross.
But I think that, as usuall, I am putting the cart before the horse. I don't even know if Home Depot is going to hire me. So this all may be a non issue. I really want to work at the police department but who knows.

Cover Letters and Day Time TV
I have to write cover letters today. And drop them off. Ugh.
I can write essays, and short answers, but I do not want to write these cover letters. Being an adult suuuuuuuuuuuuucks. I wish paper routes paid more, I can do those.
On a happier noter I have rediscovered daytime TV. Tony Danza and Ellen both have talk shows. I have to admit that I am partial to Ellen, because she is more fun.
